The U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Fossil Energy and Carbon Management invests $6.4 million in university projects that will develop materials and components to improve hydrogen turbine technology.
H2FLY’s hydrogen aircraft (‘HY4’) completed four piloted flight tests. Results showed that liquid hydrogen doubled the range of the HY4 (compared to using gaseous hydrogen), marking a critical step towards long-range, emissions-free commercial flights.
