News release: Ontario Awards $4.1M to Atura Power for Hydrogen Blending Project
Atura Power received $4.1 million from the Ontario government to fund Canada’s largest electricity-based, grid-connected, low-carbon hydrogen blending project to date.
Atura Power received $4.1 million from the Ontario government to fund Canada’s largest electricity-based, grid-connected, low-carbon hydrogen blending project to date.
The Ontario government announced the first recipients of funding through the Hydrogen Innovation Fund. The investment will support projects aiming to expand the use of hydrogen as a clean alternative fuel.
The government funding will support Hydrogen Optimized’s RuggedCell™ technology. These high-power water electrolyzers convert renewable electricity to low-cost clean hydrogen at the scale.
GH Power has developed a renewable energy technology that uses exothermic reactions to create hydrogen, alumina (aluminum oxide), and exothermic heat, which are three sought-after green energy inputs.
Using existing turbine technology, GH Power’s planned, turbine reactors will produce hydrogen, aluminum oxide, and exothermic heat to generate greener power.
Flowserve Corporation and Hydrogen Optimized entered agreement to advance large-scale green hydrogen production with innovative technologies and applications.
The Hydrogen Innovation Fund will invest $15 million over three years to kickstart and develop opportunities for hydrogen to contribute to Ontario’s clean electricity grid.
